Another Win Against Invasive Plants & Another Tool Trailer Initiative!

This weekend, the Fire Safe Sonoma crew teamed up with Alta Vista Heights HOA (a Firewise Community) to tackle French Broom and Himalayan Blackberry, two invasive species threatening fire safety and ecosystem health. Volunteers focused on clearing overgrown vegetation along the perimeter and a key drainage ditch, reducing wildfire risk and improving defensible space.

Equipped with tools from the Listos Tool Trailer, the group efficiently removed thick brush and tangled blackberry vines. Before getting to work, Roberta MacIntyre, CEO of Fire Safe Sonoma, provided a safety briefing, ensuring everyone could contribute effectively and stay safe.

Incredible community turnout! Neighbors of all ages came together, working hard and leaving with smiles on their faces and dirt under their nails. A huge thank you to Chris Weeks and the HOA for organizing this successful workday!
