In March 2019, the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors signed off on three new Community Wildfire Protection Plans (CWPP) created by fire Safe Sonoma. This CAL FIRE grant-funded project allowed us to create CWPPs for the Fitch Mountain, Fort Ross, and Mark West Watershed areas.
These CWPP’s were also used as prototypes for a template we developed that other communities may use as a tool to assist them in the creation of their own locally scaled CWPP.
The two and a half year project with a budgeted amount of $48,699.00 began in August of 2017 and ended in March of 2019.
